Bering Strait Expedition - 2011
In July 2011 three adventurers have the goal to cross the Bering Strait by kiteboard and set a world record!
A team of three Geza Scholtz, together with André Scholtz, from Switzerland ànd brothers, and Constantin Bisantz (Austria) will try to cross the Bering Strait with kites.
The Bering Strait is a 100km stretch of water that seperates Alaska from Russia. It seperates the Chuckchi Sea to the North from the North Pacific Ocean to the South. The temperature of the water is about 2 to 3 degrees Celcius and due to the shape of the continents the ocean currents are the wildest and most random in the whole world.
It will take them 6-8hrs on the kiteboard
weather4expeditions.com is going to advice them with the optimum weather window to start this unique adventure.
