General situation
Today is the last day that the conditions will be dominated by the Russian continental high. Later today a depression tracks Eastwards along the 80°parallel which will be marked by a temporarily little veering and increase of the wind. After 21/24utc again slack conditions.
Than things change in an unfavourable way. A depression center deepens over the Russian mainland and track Eastward: the estimated track of this depression is: 1)31Aug at 1800utc: N67/E171 2)01Sep at 1800utc: N66.5/W174). Along the northern flank of this pressure system there will develop a moderate to strong E to SE’ly wind blowing against the track of the Northern passage.
