Poor conditions on the Greenland Ice Cap

Philip De Roo (see pictures above), the Dutch polar explorer from www.poletrack.com, is back home from Greenland. He spent some time skiing on the Greenlandic icecap from Dye 2 to Kangerlussuaq.
The conditions were the worst he had ever seen! Normally where there was snow, now he found running water! Also Carl and Jon from KiteGreenland 2010 reported very bad conditions on the Western side of the ice cap. Kneeheigh meltwater made the last part of their trip heavy as hell.
It looks like the greenland authorities have cancelled all the permits for crossing during the month of June.

Greenland on the rise
Greenland’s ice sheet is melting is melting so fast that surprised scientists say they can almost watch the ground rise as it is relieved of the overlying weight.
This NASA satellite image shows the Jacobshavn Glacier, a major ice flow from western Greenland. The arrow points to a gray area of rapidly thinning ice between the stable higher-elevation ice and the flowing glacier.
