General
On this mornings satellite picture a few darker patches can be seen in the vicinity of the Neem site. These patches are probably ice fog patches formed below the very strong surface inversion. The latter is formed by relatively calm wind conditions and clear skies which favour radiative cooling (the model indicates -28C but i would not be surprised when it was colder than that).
01/05/10 - day 1
- Wind: SSE 4-8kt no sigificant change. Increasing a little after midnight.
- Weather: strong surface inversion with probably ice fog patches on the site or in the vicinity of the site. Clearing after 9utc and becoming sunny, probably remaining hazy. Scattered high clouds.
- Temperature: Min(6utc)=-30°C dayMax=(18utc)=-20°C.
02/05/10 - day 2
- Wind: S 8-12kt, no significant change.
- Weather: due to the slightly higher wind speed the surface inversion is less pronounced. So probably no mist patches, only hazy/sunny. Gradually more high level clouds. Becoming very cloudy to overcast with some very slight snow after 18/21utc
