“White out conditions” Due to clouds, snow and wind there is no distinction between the surface and the sky. No surface contrast and horizontal definition make it nearly impossible to progress.

Forecast NBQ : position 06 April/20utc: N89°27’57″/E132°53′14″ - day 5
Situation:
Vast frontal system extends over the North Pole area: thick cloud generates white out conditions with poor contrast and horizon. Tomorrow even worse conditions as the wind increases with blowing snow as a consequence. Later during the afternoon slightly better conditions. Extremely high temperatures right now and tomorrow, possibly just below freezing: -2/-4°C. On the 9th temperatures will lower significantly again down to -20/-25C.

Wx: overcast with snow or snow showers, no significant change. Blowing snow
Wind: NW 20-25kt gust 35kt becoming NW 15-20kt gust 30kt
Temp:-10/-5C
Drift: SE

8april10
Wx: very cloudy, snow eventually ceasing. Possibly some weak sun later during the day.
Wind: NW/NNW 10-15kt gust 20kt after 18/21utc becoming WNW 15-20kt gust 30kt
Temp: -5C or slightly higher
Drift: SE to SSE

9april10
Wx: improving conditions! weak sunny spells develop.
Wind: WNW 10-15kt gust 25kt becoming NNW 5-10kt gust 20kt
Temp: -5/-10C becoming -20/-25°C
Drift: SE
