Hi Dorothe, hi JP,
today still a pretty poor day with a lot of clouds and probably poor visibility. But tomorrow wind turns to the SE (slowly) which will introduce improving conditions. So for the 18th looks like a perfect day to get some flying done! On the longer term the 19th looks pretty good as well with things start to deteriorate again from the 20th. But that is, from meteorological point of view (because i know you guys work with thousands of year ranges!), still far away.

- Wind: weak to calm from variable directions, no significant change
- Weather: very cloudy to overcast, misty and foggy + thick layers of high clouds. a sligh snow shower is possible. No significant change
- Temperature: Min(6utc)=-20°C day Max=(18utc)=-8°C.
17/08/09
- Wind: SE 2-6kt, no significant change
- Weather: as wind turns to SE, gradually, and slowly, drier air will be advected and clouds will start to clear!. Eventually becoming sunny!
- Temperature: Min06utc=-16C dayMax(18utc)=-12°C
18/08/09:
- Wind: SE/SSE 4-8kt, no significant change .
- Weather: mainly sunny and dry, no significant change.
- Temperature: Min(6utc)=-22°C day Max(18utc)=-15°C
Vasilis and Christopher prepared the carefully cleaned slabs of ice for the linescan and run the instrument. The images in the cold glacial ice are stripped with clear and cloudy bands.
