Weather Forecast 15 August

Hi Geoff, good morning
i understand that you guys head for dakhla (on that peninsula) to get the welded buggies. How is Steve? Is he allright? Is he to continue the trip? I made this forecast with the knowledge that you will leave from Dakhla tomorrow and head further South. Once South from D, you guys are approaching the ITCZ, which is the inter tropical convergence zone. This belt is characterized by variable and confusing wind directions, due to the hot low pressures that localy form. Please let me know if you have other plans so i can alter my forecast.
hope all is well!

Still Valid
!!General remark: a sandy soil favours extreme surface heating which results in very turbulent wind. You have to take in account that above mentioned wind speed values are guide lines, but, especially during the afternoon they may vary significantly (turbulent gusts!). Formation of dust devils is possible.
Good luck, see you tomorrow! Marc. pic2
